Sarawak Special - Diang Biang Hu

Diang Biang Hu (鼎边糊) is one of the Sarawakian`s favourite food.People normally take this as their breakfast."Diang Biang Hu" is actually a type of the Foo Chow people food which was brought by our ancestors from China to Sarawak .

A bowl of Diang Biang Hu consists of fish balls,minced pork,fried onion,black fungus and the "hu" which taste like "cai kueh"(a type of kueh).And all these are mixed in concentrated soup base.It is best served when still hot.It tastes a little bit salty due to the ingredients used.For me I would add some pepper to enhance the taste.

Since it is Sarawak food it is very easy to find a kopi tiam which sell Diang Biang Hu. But I would recommend the one that sold at Hung Yun Cafe and Public which are located at Mosjaya Miri. The soup is just nice,not too "diluted".

If you have a chance to visit Sarawak do not miss this delicious food!

Today I went for lunch with my friends.And then after our lunch time we went to Photostat things,guess what I saw at the shop?

Well it`s too expensive (RM4),which the double price as compared to the normal packaging but I love the packaging so much!Thus I decided to bought it.Each of the wafer fingers is packed separately, just like the picture as shown below.

The single Kit Kat!!!

This box of Kit Kat consist of 6 wafer fingers.In order to persuade us to buy this product the manufacturer emphasized that each of the finger only contain 45kcal of calories.Which mean,we won`t getting fat after taking ONE?! Lol. I always know that it`s quite impossible since it is a type of chocolate wafer XD

I bought my Kit Kat at about 3pm.Now is 17.58pm and I only ate one of the wafer finger!It`s another miracle happened on me!I think is because each of the Kit Kats are single packed.Thus it helps me to control myself not to finish up all the wafers in seconds XD I don`t know when will I finish up the rest of the Kit Kats but then Kit Kat`s creativity is really amazed me!

I love Manhattan Fish Market!!!

During last Deepavali holidays I went to Penang,together with Brenna.We had our lunch at The Manhattan Fish Market,which is located at the Queensbay Mall.This was my very first time to go into the restaurant and try their food.As the restaurant`s name is "The Manhattan Fish Market" it`s definitely their special one is fish =)

Most of the food there are quite expensive for me since I`m only a student.But it`s worth for the price.Bren and I ordered the food which is affordable for ourself.I don`t like to eat fish because I don`t like the smell but after I tried their fish I found that fish can actually have such a good taste!I only can say that,their fish is....super yummy!!!I think is because they process the fish to remove the weird smell that I don`t like.

Now let me comment about my Creamy Pasta and Bren`s Fish and Chips.

Creamy pasta.

Well,they mixed garlic in their pasta sauce so the pasta had strong garlic smell when you start to eat till you finish the whole dishes.But I don`t know why I won`t reject the Garlic smell but I LOVE the smell.The fish is mixed together with the pasta and and it tasted just nice.When you put the fish into your mouth you will feel like it start to "melts" in you mouth,and then...swallow,together with the pasta.Finally I end up with my mouth full of garlic smell for quite a long time XD

Fish and Chips

When it was served to Bren her first response was "Hey this fish is smaller than the one when I ordered last time!".But we soon realized that we should always make sure ourselves not to judge a fish by its size =D Although the fish looked small but we couldn`t finish it,we didn`t really finish half of the fish!The fish was Dolly fish,fried.But then when you eat it you won`t feel like the golden part(which you can see in the picture)is too "hard".It was just a little bit crispy.Then next don`t forget about the chips.It`s damn nice mann!!Just nice and I don`t know how to describe it. =)

There`s still got some more food in Manhattan Fish market for me to discover.If you ask me which is my favourite restaurant in Penang I will definitely tell you is THE MANHATTAN FISH MATKET!!!Hope can go there again=)

Chic Kut Teh

Most of you have heard about bak kut teh~
Yeah it`s a nice Chinese food which is said to be good for your health.
However,the "bak"(meat) which is found in it is PORK!

The majority student in AIMST University is Indian.Well as we all know that the Hindus do not eat beef,thus it`s impossible to find any beef in our meals.Besides,the Catering company in AIMST also have to take care of the MINORITY group of students and stuff who don`t eat PORK,so the only meat we can found here is only chicken,mutton and seafood.

But sadly the seafood that they served always has weird smell;and mutton only been served once in an interval a few weeks. Therefore,chicken is our only choice.We are Chinese and we can eat all types of meat.In this situation no one will care that pork is also our favourite.

As I said chicken is our only choice,so the cooks have to try their best to prepare chicken with different methods such as fry,cook with kicap,lemon,kari and others in order to avoid us to complaint.

I`m really admire of the cook`s creativity,you know,last friday they served us chic kut teh during our lunch and also dinner.wakao!

Here is how the Chic Kut teh look like.Haha~really creative.After I lough at the name I also want to thank to the cook for their creativity..Muahahahahaah!!!!!!!!!!They use chicken to substitute PORK ~!

That is it!It taste similar with Bak Kut teh but the
taste is not as 'strong' as bak kut teh.
With Chicken and Chinese Mushroom =.=!!
